I was born to show you crafting made EZ. DIY is in my blood -- inspired and encouraged by my Mom, I started using a low temp glue gun at age three.
Growing up, every birthday party had a craft. My Mom would do crafts with my elementary school classes. We made Christmas decorations. I loved when I had school projects that allowed me to show off my creativity. I scrapbooked days and nights away, preserving memories and sometimes spending four hours on a single page.
As I grew up, I continued discovering my own favorite crafts. I expanded from papercrafting into cake and cupcake decorating and costume making. I also learned how to make jewelry when my Mom had a jewelry business with her girlfriends.
There was never a question that I’d DIY every wedding event and every wedding detail. Together with my Mom and with a sketchbook, a hot glue gun, and plenty of additional craft supplies, we set out on the DIY journey that had always been my dream.
Sharing those moments with my Mom created memories I'll always cherish, especially now. My Mom passed away from Creuzfeldt-Jakob disease, a rare, fast-acting, terminal brain disease, in June 2018. I lost my best friend, crafting partner in crime, and one of the most kind-hearted people I will ever know. Without her physically here, I know the best way to honor her legacy is by continuing to follow my own creative dreams.
Join me on the journey -- I learned a tremendous amount along the way as I DIYed my wedding, and now I am here to share that with all of you.
